Originally envisioned in the early 1980's, Brick Landing boasts something almost none of it's modern contemporaries can, location.  Located on the Intracoastal Waterway, Brick Lannding lies equidistant between Ocean Isle Beach and Shallotte North Carolina.  Within 4-5 minutes, one can be in either town.  Nestled behind the gates lies different communites suiting different architectural styles and guidelines.  The plantation is centered around a demanding course best described by critics as a "player's course" that winds along the waterway and through salt water tidal marshes.  With a course redesign scheduled to be completed in 2007 by renowned course architect Dan Maples, 16 holes will feature water "blessings".  Golf is not the only attraction at Brick Landing though.  Active membership groups meet regularly in the Southern Plantation inspired clubhouse overlooking the waterway.  Tennis courts are located centrally in the community adjacent to the Olympic sized swimming pool.  Neighbors frequently visit one another on golf carts or bicycles in a truly relaxed atmosphere.
